    Great rack for the price!

Posted by Johnny on Apr 3rd 2021

I really like this rack! Firstly, in my opinion it looks quite a bit sleeker than the silver clunky rectangular Thule racks that are so ubiquitous these days. Sure, Thule and Yakima make sleeker racks now, but you're going to pay more than double for those. I would have loved to submit some pictures of how this looks on my black 2012 Forester, but Rockymounts doesn't seem to have that option (oh well). My only gripe with this rack is that when you lift it up to load skis or boards into it, the spring doesn't hold the rack open (which is a feature found on the Thule and Yakima racks that I've used), so you have to lift the rack with the board/skis as you're loading them. This is not a big deal and at this price point I'd barely call it a complaint, but some may find it annoying. I will say, for those of us shorter folks driving SUVs, this may actually work in your favor as you won't have to hop back on the vehicle to close the rack after loading. So in closing, if you want a solid rack, from a good company, and for a good price, just go ahead and hit that add to cart button. The rack works well and does precisely what it's intended to do, which is to shlep you and your shredder friends gear to the mountain and back safely and (imo) stylishly (bonus points and 5 stars for the latter).

    Liftop Biggie

Bought a used one from my local racknroad. Hooked them up to my Yakima jetstream bars I used the slot mount. Drove 70/80 mph for 350 miles worked great. Checked them when we stopped for gas and they were just as tight as when I first put them on.

    One season in....

Posted by David Keese on Jul 5th 2017

Picked this up for last years ski season and was simple to mount and always worked. I never took it off and it made it through a heavy snow season for the northeast with flying colors, they still look new! Highly recommended. Mounted on a highlander with stock bars.

    Great Value

Been using the lift Op biggie on a subaru forester with stock crossbars for 1 season here in the CO front range. Worked flawlessly all year, got close to 30 days in. Great value for the money and functions exactly as it should and quiet! Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a ski rack.

Nice change from Yakima and Thule!

Posted by Joanne M. on Mar 1st 2017

We love our LiftOp Biggie! We used it countless times on our last ski trip to Mt. Bachelor. It only took a few minutes to install and the release button is so much easier to use with ski gloves on. The lock is really smooth as well, no more forcing it to lock/unlock in cold weather like our previous Yakima and Thule ski racks. I highly recommend it!

    LiftOp Biggie

The mounts work fine, but they are extremely difficult to mount on the racks of my X-terra. In addition, they are also difficult to get off. If the wires were only a little longer, they’d be a snap. Thanks, Dave Storter

    Solid All Around

Posted by Kym A. on Feb 21st 2017

LiftOp Biggie! Really impressed how well these mount on Euro bars. Completely solid and the system with the Euro bars is very deterrent to theft. Easily fit 5 pair of skis, with some being "fat" and others just "pudgy". Secure ride and stable. They do reduce my gas mileage by 2-3 MPH, but any system will do that, no fault of Rockymounts at all.
