Products made to conquer any trail
We used this on our sprinter van along with the Backstage rack and drove for hundreds of miles and a lot of bumpy, and sometimes rough, dirt roads. The hitch did not affect the rack and the entire setup was strong and solid and did not become loose or shift at all.
This extension does the job nicely. It has a clean look with the anti wobble device tucked inside. I have one on my moto carrier as well as my bike rack.
I bought this to extend the rack out past the spare tire on the back of my Jeep Wrangler. It works perfect. The bolt that holds it in place is solid and keeps the rack from wobbling. I highly recommend it.
When I fold my yakima rack up, it hits the back of my truck. I picked this up to move the rack farther away from the car. I wish yakima had made the rack correctly in the first place, but that is another issue. This showed up the day after I ordered it. Instructions were clear and it fit well in my curt hitch. The welds were nice and it had a good paint or powder coat finish. I tighten the bolt and it was rock solid. I should send yakima an invoice for this.
i had a hitch extension but it was always rattling around and driving me crazy. i upgraded to this one when i read it can get rid of the rattle and the movement. you have to bolt it in with a wrench, it came with a wrench, but i use my socket wrench (3/4" or 19mm) since it is quicker. took it on my first trip towing my camper and it worked great. a lot quieter and solid feeling than my old one.
