Products made to conquer any trail
Perfectly made for hauling an e bike. My wife recently purchased an e bike and its simply too heavy for anyone to lift onto a standard tow hitch rack. The Gigawat makes loading the e bike easy and safe. On top of that, the workmanship of the Gigawat is far superior to my tow hitch rack, which isn't made by RockyMounts. Rest asured, my next bike rack will be a RockyMount.
The Giga Watt e-bike rack offer quick, safe and secure loading thanks to its well-designed loading ramp and wheel mounts. My e-bike weighs 75 LBS (without Battery). The Giga Watt solves the weight issue with its well-designed loading ramp which is a real back savor. The rack also offers an additional security locking point that is integrated into the rack frame. I am very happy with my purchase. The Giga Watt is the real deal!
We purchased a gigawatt rack in the first few hours it was available and have used it once on a short trip. First of all it's a very sturdy and quality rack. Very stable and held our two heavy Aventon Adventure 2's securely. No concerns it will do a good job traveling. Very satisfied with the rack itself.
Two reasons I gave 4 stars, not 5. Mainly because of the $900 price. In my view it's about 10-15% overpriced. Secondly for the price a no-tool install/removal would be welcomed. Currently a 19mm is needed. A very cheap stamped wrench is included but a socket is much easier. Yes quality does cost more but there's still a limit.
Overall we're glad we have the rack. Just feel it is a little overpriced. If someone has $900 to spend I'd certainly recommend it.
The new Gigawatt bike rack has truly been thought out and designed with the consumer in mind. Very thought out and well designed for e-bikes and RV’s. Love the ramp and it stays connected during use and easy to install and remove.
Worth the money.
Rack is rock solid on the vehicle, both in the receiver and the frame of the rack with only a little movement from the tilting hardware. Bikes are well secured, both a cargo bike with 20" wheels and a step through with 26" wheels. Extra width is appreciated so that a cargo bike with a kid rack doesn't interfere with the bike next to it. 8mm chain and improved locks give me a lot of confidence with leaving expensive bikes on it. Ramp seems to have been an afterthought with no way to store it on the rack and a tenuous connection to the rack when using that fell off when the bike came off at an angle. Ramp is long enough to make it easy to load bikes though, however the strap for the rear wheel is hard to keep out of the way while running them up.
