    Love it

I love this rack. The frame is very heavy duty and I love how easy the load hook is to use. This rack fit perfectly on my Golf Sportwagen and the red looks sweet too!

    Brass Knuckles

Posted by Brian W. on Nov 2nd 2017

Meh...This is the spendiest bike rack of the RM lineup, and it's not the best. It's big, heavy and clunky, taking up a huge amount of roof space when folded flat. In fact, it was too large for my station wagon, and we installed it on my wife's huge truck. What I'm least pleased with is that the plastic cover that covers the hardware pops off every time I use the rack. As one pulls the wheel guide from storage position to the wheel guide position, the plastic cover pops off every time because of poor design or poor manfacturing tolerances. I love RM racks, but I'd avoid this one.

Solid carrier - First few rides review.

Glad I decided to give these a try. Using 2 - one plus size 29'er and one 2.3 29'er - no fitment issues at all although the plus 29'er doesn't have a 8th inch to spare when pulling the tire bar up after loading. Fat tire accessories not needed for 3.0" - seems like I could even squeeze a little bit wider tire in there. I'll attempt a 3.75 this winter. I'm interested to see how these hold up in the winter. My trailer mount rack by another manufacturer became so corroded after ONE season, I could no longer click lock one arm in place or use the locks. Granted this was on the back on the car where all the grime and salt end up. I expect these will fare much better on top of the roof. The warranty on these gives me piece of mind regardless. Only issue so far... the "Rocky Mounts" badging / stickers are already peeling off, all 4 of them. : / I'm not a marketing professional but that seems like something RM would want as tough as the rest of this mount. Otherwise, these things are built like a tank. Low profile when in the travel position - not too noisy, very happy.

    So far so good.

Posted by Lloyd S. on May 14th 2017

So far so good. I just purchased a red Brass Knuckles rack and it looks great on my blue Acura TSX. Installation is super easy and mounting my bike is an easy 3 step process. My previous rack caused me about a 10% mpg hit so I'm kinda expecting the same here, maybe a little more due to the slightly more bulky design. My only negative will be the weight. My previous rack was under 10lbs, the Brss Knuckles is north of 15lbs easily. I'm sure I'll get over it though as the Brass Knuckles has a much more sturdy and robust feel to it than my previous rack.

Sleek and super quick and easy to use!

I love this rack! It's easy to install and super fast to load your bike. I'm getting ready to purchase a second one for the other side of my Subaru. I also own 2, Yakama frontloaders and they do not compare in any way. They take way to long to load your bike. I highly recommend the Brassknuckle.

    BK rules!

Bought 2 Brassknuckles in black for my 2016 BMW X5. Took 20 minutes to switch one to the passenger side and install them both. They look great, nice and sleek and don't ruin the look of the car. It's easy to mount the bikes with the strap tucked out of the way and one handed operation of the handle. Well done Rockymounts!

    Solid product, very satisfied

Posted by Shawn Li on May 2nd 2017

I purchased two of the red BrassKnuckles racks for my black VW Golf. I mounted them directly to my Thule Aeroblades base roof racks and they fit great! Install was easy, just make sure you fully tighten the straps up front. The rack is very easy to use and the quality in top notch. It locks the bike real tight in place. And I did not notice much hit on the MPG, probably because it folds up very well when you have no bike on it. I am a big fan of the red color, I think it's got a very nice contrast to my black car. Highly recommend these!

    Problem Solved

Posted by stev on Feb 8th 2017

Killer product. Makes everything easier not having to take wheels off (I have 2 on top of my WRX), looks better than any big-company offerings, and doesn't even hurt MPG as much as anticipated. If you like to ride and don't have a truck, this is about as no-brainer as it gets. More importantly though: wanted to say a word about the Rocky Mounts people and the service they give their customers. I had a problem with a lockset - they sent extras no charge. I dropped a rack and broke it like an absolute jackass - they sent replacement parts. Hard to find a company this cool these days. Really impressed, and will be a customer for life. Steve Boston, MA
