Returns & Warranty

We offer a Limited Lifetime Warranty for products purchased after January 1, 2014 to the original owner. For details of the warranty, what applies, what is excluded and how to make a claim, see below.  

To file a warranty claim, please reach out to customer service. Pictures are important, so please attach a few so we understand the issue.  If covered by warranty, the customer is responsible for shipping charges. 

RockyMounts Warranty Covers:

  • Manufacturing defects
  • Wear beyond what is considered normal with proper use and maintenance
  • Broken parts/components from regular use
  • Issues that inhibit proper function of the rack

RockyMounts does not cover damage resulting from:

  • Use of product as not intended or designed.
  • Use on RVs, Trailers, Off-Roading
  • Use of generic hitch extensions or third party components
  • Superficial wear-and-tear. Such as faded plastic/paint, corrosion, etc.
  • Impact from vehicle crashes, garage door, low trees, ground objects, parking lot incidents
  • Melted wheel cups from insufficient exhaust clearance
  • Extreme weather events
  • Driving under garages or low overhangs with roof racks
  • Car Washes
  • Modified or altered products
  • Incorrectly assembled or installed products
  • Lost Keys
  • Theft of bicycles or equipment

Returns

Please enter your order details below including a comment with your reason for the return and some context on the problem, if there was one. The more information you can give us, the quicker we can help you facilitate your return.

You may return most new, unopened items in the original packaging within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc)

If the rack is found not to be in new and unused condition, the refund amount will be left to the discretion of our customer service team. We will not offer a full refund on used items. You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

Returns can see a restocking fee of up to $65 based upon the discretion of our customer service team and the circumstances surrounding the return.

We do not accept returns on EP/Industry purchases.

You have 14 days to return an item from the date of purchase.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your item must be in the original packaging, along with any Labels/Accessories/Guarantees/Instructions. You must retain the receipt or proof of purchase. All purchased items must be returned and inspected before any refund or exchange will be granted.

REFUNDS

Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item. We will notify as soon as reasonably practicable on the status of your refund after inspecting the item. If your refund is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment). Please note that the time frame for receiving the credit will vary, depending on your card issuer's policies. 

RESTRICTIONS AND EXCEPTIONS

Items cannot be returned if they have been modified or altered or damaged by you. As a result of copyright laws and hygiene regulations a refund or exchange is not available for the following:
- Consumables (perishable products - some Health and Beauty/Pharmacy products)
- Health and personal care items
- Sale items

CONSUMERS GUARANTEES ACT 1993

The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for items sold. In the event that items are sold are deficient or are fault, then the retailer has the obligation to repair, replace or refund.

EXCHANGES

If an item is defective or damages, we can offer to exchange it for another one or another item of the same value. Proof of purchase is required in order to obtain an exchange. Please note, as mentioned above, items returned or exchanged must be in the same condition as received with all original packaging and labels returned with the item.

MANUFACTURING DEFECTS
