This is a great rack.
I have a camper that goes on the back of my truck and until RocyMounts came out with the BackStage Swing Away Platform Hitch Rack (That’s quite a mouthful.) there were very few viable options. Thus, I’m really happy with the rack. It works great and is easy to operate. Next should be places for 3-4 bikes.

Awesome
Just got this tonight, love it. The rack is much strurdier than my previous Thule rack. The rack locks are awesome and there is no slop in the hitch. The hardware is all black oxidized and is all locking so you don’t need to worry about stuff coming loose. The swing out feature is a must if you own a truck.

THE bike rack to own
Sold my gas guzzling pickup and bought a cute little Rav4... only issue was it has a swinging back door and with any other hitch rack I would lose access to the back. Enter the Backstage, swings away so I can still get in the back of my car, easy to load and unload, and keeps my whiny friends with carbon bikes happy since it doesn't touch their frame at all.

BackStage Swing Away Platform Hitch Rack
Love this! Best of its kind. We carried bikes across country and they were safe and secure with no movement. Super easy to use.

better lock option
I just left a review on the 20th, but would like to add this bit. If you are not happy with the plastic locks that come with the rack, I found that Curt 23515 hitch locks work perfectly with the RM posts. You can get 2 (one for the hitch and one for the cable lock) for about $30. This, and some washers to take up the empty space on the posts will help prevent sawing attempts. This may be a partnership that RM may want to consider in the future.

Worth every penny
Just got the Backstage 2. Very impressed at the solid lack of play, once everything was snugged down, there's literally none! I thought I would need to buy the hitch extension for my 2009 RAV4, but did not. I have a Curt class 3 hitch and have about a 1/2" of clearance between the rack and the spare tire cover when the rack is in the upright stow position. Plenty of clearance when the rack is swung out and the rear door is wide open. Great product! The only thing I would change is the locks for the hitch pin and cable lock. They are plastic and could probably be broken with simple tools. I don't trust cable locks, so I got a heavy duty chain and lock, which i run through the hitch, bike frames and wheels. If someone is going to steal it they would need to unbolt the entire hitch off the car and carry away about 180 pounds worth of cumbersome metal! Rockymounts knocked it out of the park with this design. Having owned both Yakima and Thule racks, this rack is built beefier and I think it will last a long time. Very pleased!

What you would expect from RM. No cut corners. Stout design
Instead of paying for a standalone swing out hitch adapter and a hitch rack, I decided to settle for 2 bikes and go with the back stage. What an elegant design. I love that it is burly enough and sits high enough to take off road, yet it is light enough to take on and off the truck on your own. Doesn't take too much space up in the garage and it looks awesome (I dig the hidden branding on the swing arm) User interface is flawless, most people wouldn't need any instruction to know exactly how to operate the swing out function on the first go. My only complaint would be the plastic locks that were provided, definitely purchased some aftermarket replacements when I saw these things.

Easy to install and fits perfect on the new 2018 Airstream Interstate and swings completely away to allow access to the double rear doors on our AI... Highly recommend this product! Very satisfied.
