I rarely give reviews, but I will on this since I appreciate that someone is at least looking at the people who want solid construction as a choice. This is built profoundly solid. Reminds me of something a person with their own metalworking shop would weld up after getting tired of plastic-frame junk for holding their bikes. The small tradeoff for that solid construction is that it is a little heavy as a single person to insert into hitch, but really easy with 2 people (its a 2 bike rack so likely going to be someone else anyway, they can help install the hitch onto vehicle ). It mounts to a 2011 JK Wrangler, if take the rear spare tire off. Will also fold up also with that spare tire off (need to look at the photos and fold the front tire holder over so its flat before folding up rack). If want to keep the rear spare wheel on, one needs to buy the extender accessory (which I have come back to buy today). The JK wrangler really benefits from a hitch based swingaway like this BackStage mount, since with a factory Wrangler hardtop, cant open rear window unless open the hatch first, and can't open hatch with bikes obstructing if it was a non-swingaway type. The bikes on rack swing wide and have a double articulation making for good easy access to rear of vehicle.

This rack is great, it works really well on our Sportsmobile with barn doors! It's easy to load/unload and very secure even Offroad. Couple things I'd change are the lock cable and core system seems cheap, I'm used to Yakima ones which are very nice. Also with two mountain bikes there is no way to avoid seat handlebar interference if you don't have a dropper post. I've maxed out the slide adjustment and now have shimmed the front of each tray up 1/8" to angle the trays opposite so my bars will clear seats (it's a problem with both our 29ers and Fatbikes). Otherwise fits all sizes of tires,and love the swing/tilt functions!

This rack is great, the quality is top notch, and its easy to assemble. I got it mainly for its swing-away tray feature. I like to camp in the back of my truck, and was getting frustrated with another tray rack always getting in the way of access to the truck bed. With this rack I can keep both of my bikes on the rack and swing out of the way for super convenient access to the back. I've even carried a 40lb E-bike and a fully loaded bike touring bike on the rack at the same time! It held great, no worries. The tilt feature is also super fast and easy to use. The only negative I can say is about the bike lock. The lock works perfectly well, but being that it is only a cable with a loop, I'm concerned about its security. It's also kind of a pain to stow the lock on the rack when not in use. I would have preferred a hide-away style lock, or even better a lock built into the telescoping arms. I would highly recommend this rack for anyone looking for a 2 bike tray style rack with a swing away feature.

Can really say. It was so hard to get the rack that I missed the entire biking season here in Montana just waiting for it to ship. When it finally showed up I actually had forgotten about it. I used it one time and it seemed fine. Trace

I have not used the rack too much yet, but when I have, I have loved it. I didn't get it until the end of the season. It is very convenient. Without bikes, easy to drop down to open the hatch on my Subaru. With bikes I can still get into the back by just swinging the hinge out. I am small, but still easy to do. I had a hinged rack on my old rack (not a platform), but my tri bike would't fit on it, so was so glad they came out with a platform rack that hinges.

It is easy to use. Heavy but once it is mounted on the car, very easy to use. Expensive compared to other hitch carriers, but it works great for those vehicles that you need to get to the back doors.

Ignore the person who gave this rack one star, if you read all the other reviews you will see its bogus. The rack is super solid. Perfect rack for people who need access to the back of their truck. zero play in the rack when its all tightened. I researched other racks that were from competitors and I'm glad i went with rockymounts.

I was very disappointed with it. Very heavy and cheaply made. Good idea poorly executed. I’m a metal fabricator and welder by trade so I know what I’m looking at. On top of that it was 2 months late getting to me. You don’t have to worry about these comments I will never buy another product of yours. You got my money so I know you don’t care.
