The GuideRail steps away from the traditional carrying style of platform hitch racks; By utilizing dual load arms, the rack completely eliminates frame or fork contact, it allows for asymmetric bike loading to avoid handlebar interference, and it creates a simple aesthetic that virtually blends in with most vehicles. The GuideRail reduces plastic parts to a minimum and maintains the same capacity and reliability of the MonoRail Family. Carrying bikes up to 60lbs per tray, tires up to 3” wide, and wheelbases up to 55” the GuideRail can handle just about anything including most E-bikes. Included is a 10mm square link chain to secure your bikes without stress.

Searched far and wide. This is the best.

I looked at all the options when deciding on a new rack. What truly impressed me was Rocky Mounts customer service. I called the leading competitor rack of similar design and no one answered the phone. Rocky mounts answered all my questions thoroughly and the team was very helpful. The rack is fantastic and I love it! I've been using it every day for a month. The only compromise I would mention is that it is very heavy with the add on attachment. This is fine, but something to consider. I now have it set up for two bikes and use the add on only for big trips when I can't put a bike in my pickup bed. Overall this is 5 star product and 10 star service!

I love this rack and I havent even used it yet!

Normally people write about the product or leave reviews when they dont like something, but this is different. I will start with the customer experience/customer service. I have never experienced anything like it! I had some questions, they answered my questions VERY promptly and even went out and took measurements of stuff for me to confirm things would fit my truck! Not only did they go above and beyond for a potential customer, once I placed my order and they shipped my item, they left me a little personal note on one of the accessories I purchased. It simply said "Go Bills". You might think, who cares.... I do! You should! This goes to show a lot about who they are as a company and that they truly care about and pay attention to their customers. This company is from Colorado and I am from Buffalo, so the fact that someone there took the extra few seconds to not only notice I was from Buffalo, but to also write Go Bills and show a little support for my hometown team. Just super cool to me. Now, on to the rack itself. This this is pretty light for how bomb proof and study it is! It is super simple and functional, goes together in minutes, and looks, feels and functions like no rack I have ever owned. I have 100% confidence in this rack carrying my expensive mountain bike, locking it and going into a store or to grab a beer after riding. I can not say the same for some of the other racks I have owned. I had a few specifics that a rack had to meet for me to even consider purchasing it. 1. Weight. My last rack was so heavy I dreaded installing and removing it every time. It was a chore. And I am a pretty big guy that enjoys lifting things, but not that rack! 2. It needed to lock my bikes! I often grab food or a beer after riding with buddies and I needed confidence my bike would be there when I get back. 3. It needed to fit my sons 20" MTB. 4. It needed to work with my hitch. I drive an HD truck, so I have a 2.5" receiver with an adapter to 2" . Some of the racks out there now likely wouldnt work or would at least causes some issues with that setup. 5. It needed to be contact less (no frame or fork touching or rubbing) 6. Not as important but nice - the rack drops down to get out of the way so I can get into my tailgate! Side note: For those of you that have an HD truck with a 2.5" hitch. You DO NOT need the extended hitch pin. For $10 I purchased it just in case, but It was not needed. The standard hitch pin is long enough to reach through, tighten down and lock in my HD hitch! That is awesome! I set up my rack and mounted my bike on it just to practice loading and locking, and man, it is so much easier, quicker and stress free than my previous racks. I have yet to travel with the rack, but again, I have 100% confidence in this rack. If you are in the market for a platform style rack and this one fits your budget, I highly recommend it!!!!

    Guiderail

This hitch rack is perfect. Pretty easy to assemble and minimal movement ever on rougher roads. Add in the integrated chain lock you can use if you want to stop for a fuel up before or after you ride and this thing is perfect!

    Love it!!!

I have a Toyota pickup truck and was using the fork mount bike rack for many years. I was looking for a new rack that would not require the removal of the front wheel as well as the tonneau cover that I use. I compared features between several of the top manufacturers of these racks and kept coming back to the RockyMounts Guiderail for two main reasons: 1. Do not have to reach under the rack to move the rack position. 2. Can secure the rack to the truck and secure the bikes to the rack. I am glad I took the plunge and purchased this rack. So much easier to load and unload my bicycles. I also added the Kody Technologies rear light to increase visibility when the bikes are loaded.

    Awesome!

Posted by Caith on May 13th 2024

I bought a 1Up tray mount with swing arm rack last year and it was simply too much rack. Bought the RockyMount GuideRail as a replacement and couldn't be happier. Took only 20 simple minutes to assemble and was able to do it solo. The rack is sturdy, streamline, simple to use, low-profile, and the build in locking mechanism is great! Loading the bikes is quick, simple and efficient. On my Crosstrek, the hatch can be opened without lower the rack which is a huge bonus. Ordered the rack on a Tuesday and it was delivered two days later. Highly recommend this rack!

    Guiderail

Posted by Michael Greenwood on Feb 25th 2024

If you are reading this for an unbiased average mountain biker's opinion on whether to buy one of these, do it! Probably like many of you, I checked out all the "1up" style wheel locking racks (including 1up as well) and decided to take the plunge with the Guiderail. Nothing bad to say about any of the alternatives, in fact my brother uses the 1up and likes it as well, but this thing is awesome! It came fast and packaged well, took maybe 10 minutes to assemble, and presto...done! It isn't heavy, but built solid and locks onto the hitch with the anti wobble like a gorilla has a death grip on it! The best part and one of the main selling points for me is the smoothness of the ratchets and the fact that you don't have to continuously apply pressure on the levers to adjust like the 1up racks. I was skeptical since I couldn't find a dealer in central Florida that had the Guiderail on display for me to see in person, but after using it, I am now a believer and glad I got it for the long haul! No matter what you go with, you're dropping a pretty dime, so don't settle or be afraid to try a different rack such as the Rocky Mounts Guiderail. You won't regret it.

    Sweet upgrade to 1up

Posted by Upgrade to 1up on Feb 19th 2024

Had this rack for a month now and have been very pleased with the quality and ease of use. I take mine off after each use and wish it could fold up more to take less storage space in garage. It would be nice in future versions to have integrated brake lights. Overall I would def rec.
